What is AI TRiSM?

AI TRiSM — AI Trust, Risk, and Security Management — is a category coined by Gartner to describe the governance and controls organizations need to deploy AI responsibly. According to Gartner, 29% of organizations reported AI-related privacy or security incidents in 2023. AI TRiSM addresses the gap between AI's potential and the operational reality of using it on regulated data.

Backplain's AI Firewall is a direct implementation of these principles: content anomaly detection, data protection at the prompt boundary, model access governance, and a complete audit trail — all available to the IT director who has to answer for it, without engineering overhead.
